My first blog

I am addicted to Pandora at home and school. I did not know this was a Web 2.0 tool! I also found Slacker to be an equal..
First time bloggin. This could be a useful tool in science to share data.

Web 2.0 Tool

I feel like a tool. Shooting from the hip with the class. I hope today I can focus on the lingo. It is frustrating.

Pandora v. All Others

Visited the music sites. Cannot say which is best but I can say that I have been using Pandora for several years and really like it. I have been playing with Slacker a bit and it seems to be a nice interface it might have a few more options. One thing I like about Pandora is the thumbs up and thumbs down. Once you indicate what you like it gives you more music in that same style. Nice touch.

I like the Pandora site the best because they stream based upon your choices. This one did lock, and others were not working well. I like the apps in iGoogle. I like the weather and links to things I find.

I went on www. freetech4teachers.com I noticed that they have information about free software and what to do with them on this site. I think this is one that is actually useful for me. How do we embed Voki on our sites?

Even more Web 2.0 Tools!!!

The following link is for a site that is organized so well. It includes many of the Web 2.0 tools that we mention in your syllabus but goes far beyond. Have fun looking at all of these sites.

Blogging, Creating, Memorizing, Oh My

I find I am just touching the tips of everything and don't know how to go deeper. I have great ideas I want to try with wordle, diigo, and vokis. I need some help! However, what I have found is interesting yet frustrating. I like Pandora for its variety and would use the Disney station for transitions and work time. I found adding extras to the igoogle page takes longer to download so "less is more". I found a great blog about literature books and lesson plans and thought I book marked it but I can't find it! I'm still searching for it. I like diigo because of it's highlighting but I have questions about using it, help! The Voki needs more hairstyle varieties too. I don't look anything like mine but closest with curly hair! I can't wait to pick people's brains that know what they're doing! See you soon.

This is all new to me! I can see how a teacher could use alot of these websites for a classroom. Not sure if it is something the will work for the office. I liked Slacker of all the music sites because of its selections and ease of use. Apps didn't impress me although creating a voki was fun. I have to fiqure out how to put it on Google account. Diigo was more useful because you could highlight and bookmark.
I am use to either more hands on instruction or more detailed directions. I am finding this a little frustrating.
