I chose mostly educational blogs on my Google Reader page. We have talked about how to keep up with technology and blogs are a great place to do this. I also am a news junkie, so it is nice to have an RSS feed for the New York Times. I have been using Animoto this year on our school's front page of our webpage. I try to have a new Animoto up every 6 weeks on a school event. We are planning to have the 5th graders use Animoto to create their 5th grade graduation video this year. This has been a project done by 5th grade teachers in the past and we are going to turn it over to the students this year. Smilebox is a fun way to put together pictures from a field trip or school event. It was faster to use than Animoto. I am not convinced that Facebook is for me. I know the power of it for younger people. I have two college age daughters and I know how much of their social life happens on Facebook. They like it to invite friends to events, to write quick messages on people's walls and to keep up on gossip with friends they don't see regularly. They both told me they would not friend me. It is like giving your mother you diary to read. I just read an article in the newspaper about whether you can be too old for a Facebook and I agree with the author that some things need to be left for younger people. I like working with photos on the sites like Fotoflexer and have included a photo of my daughters that I turned into a cartoon.
