Well...Facebook. I'm not down at all. Kids tell me too much information already due to my character, I try to stay clear of it. I've had students and still have students who have told me personally that if I was on faceboard and I quote, "oooo it would be bad." My lady friend uses Facebook and believes that it is nice to reunite with some people, but doesn't really want to know everyone's actions. After all, all your friends in Facebook are usually already in your email contacts. To each his own.
Voicethread. I imagine students completing a Great Depression portfolio and speaking about the pictures. They could pretend they FDR's presenting a "fireside chat" on voicethread, a first person account of a farmer moving West, or a business owner resorting to breadlines. The possibilities are endless. During black history month, which is now.. you could collect pictures of famous civil rights leaders. Very unique and high interest, big time.
